The 2014 harvest conditions are exceptional, unexpected but, of course, much hoped for! Following a poor summer, the ten days before the grape harvest were incredibly effective, with the north wind bringing warm days and cool nights. We started the harvest on Monday 15 September. The health of the grapes is unique in Côte de Nuits, the phenolic maturity is perfect and the acid balance at very good levels; all of these factors are harbingers of an excellent vintage, which should be confirmed at the end of the vinification process within the next few weeks. In Côte de Beaune, the consequences of the hail in late July reduced the grape yield by 30 to 60% depending on the area. In Côte de Nuits, the yields are affected in most plots.
